I feel like my TVD-obsession is reaching new levels, I dlded the audiobook to my iPhone. Started listening to it today when I was at the gym sweating like a pig on the damn crosstrainer

LOL it's nothing like the series. I can see the creators got some inspiration from the series but that's pretty much all. They probably didn't even bother to read ( Read more... )

lol omg the books are some of the most hysterical things ever and by "hysterical" I actually mean OH THE HORRORS I'VE SUFFERED. I'm actually amazed that Julie and Kevin managed to make something so great out of them.

I haven't read the books. In fact, I'm a high school teacher, and I went to the school library and told my librarian friend that I fell in love with the show over winter break and she said, "Don't read the books, I hear they suck." I believe her over anyone because she's chosen really good books for me. She told me that if I didn't want something like Twilight, but I wanted something better written than The Vampire Diaries books, I should read Vampire Academy.

Trust me, you're not missing out on anything. Unless you're really into stereotypes and bad writing.

but it's awesome that you're a high school teatcher! Do you talk about the series/other fandoms with your students??

I've brought it up with a couple students. I started reading Vampire Academy and they said that was a good series.
