the greatest memory i have of my great grandmother is when she became an american citizen. i accompanied her when she took her exam. i wished her good luck and watched her walk down the long hallway where she disappeared into a room. a stranger sat me in a plastic chair in an open room full of immigrants to wait. rows and rows of plastic chairs,

would you believe me if i told you it dawns on me to realize how lucky i am to be a citizen everyday i go to work and take peoples fingerprints in hopes of theirs?
