(O _ O) why would someone not lock their dog? It's bad enough when they can't train it correctly so that it wouldn't be aggressive, but letting it run around freely is just horrible.

They were just lazy, sadly, but thankfully because of media's attention the dog isn't there anymore and the old man is safe, as well, I think!

Yeah, it really does make you feel bad for dogs when that happens to them. I think the one neighbor really loved her dog: he was a rescue, and apparently had been mistreated pretty badly before which was why he acted like he did...so it was just a doubly-bad situation all over, and I think maybe she panicked that they'd come and take him away or get him killed if she admitted that he had the issues he did? *is unsure* The man didn't press charges and the elderly dog recovered, so I guess she was fortunate on that front. They eventually moved to a house in a more rural area, which was probably better for everyone in the neighborhood and that dog too--since he could have a bigger space to roam without there being any other dogs or people for miles (as he seemed to get along great with just her and her husband). It's just sad when that happens though, since it really isn't the dog's fault at all if they've been trained to ( ... )
