I think I may be out of luck for the airline info I found yesterday...I had found an awesome internet rate to fly into Ft. Lauderdale for CFTC in July, and now the info is gone. =(

I know airline info changes constantly, and I guess I shouldn't have gotten so overly confident that I'd be able to secure it. I feel like a dork now. I guess I'll just ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about that airline tickets. That does suck that they change so quickly. I have seen it where it will change after an hour of looking. You just have to keep you eyes open all the time for the best rates.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed though...I'm constantly checking, at least at work anyways lol, so hopefully I'll get lucky soon! =)

Hey Rene! Here's a tip for ya. Don't try checking for airfares from Friday-Sunday. They usually jack up the prices during the weekend, no matter when you're planning on flying. If you find a good low price online, call that airline to get a rate and give specific days and times. If it's the same as the online price, tell them to do a courtesy hold for you until midnight the following day. That way, if the prices go up again by the next day, you'll still have the guaranteed price from yesterday when you go to purchase them.

thanks SO much M! This is the first time I've flown anywhere, or even purchased airline tickets for that matter, so I will definitely keep that mindset when getting ready to make a purchase!!

Your welcome! Believe me, I do this a lot. I just bought 4 tix yesterday for the hubby and kids to fly home to San Francisco next month. When I first started checking fares they were $515 each. On Wednesday they finally went down to $230 each and I had them hold it til yesterday. Today the tickets are $360 each.

When my Mom and I took the kids to the Philippines over the Christmas holidays, the fares were $2400 for us and my 2 older kids. My youngest was $2020! And he's 7! They usually jack up the prices during high season. I just kept checking back everyday until I finally got lucky with one of the airlines who had a special that day and I got the tix for $1300 and $1011.

Believe me, girl, it pays off!

I'm not giving up hope that I might find that lower rate again this week. Right now I'm not at a bad place with the next lowest fare, but even still it would be way lower than what the major airlines rates are going for to fly there. Keeping my fingers crossed! =)
