And the title is from Firefly, one of the phrases that River repeats when she's disturbed: "Two by two, hands of blue." The men with blue gloves are the ones that performed experiments on her. I thought it was a little fitting that both Raven and Hank have blue hands, too.

Ooo, this is really good. Poor Charles! I like how, in contrast to River's super-soldier, Charles is just really damaged and broken (in every sense). And Erik's so sweet!
