Okay, so apparently my journal has become even more popular. Adam and Kristi happened upon my entry regarding Bert and Nate. I'm guessing they found it via my laptop. *Shrugs* At any rate, it's caused me to think about whether or not I should make this a 'friend's only' journal or not. But then I run into all sorts of problems

Boo, look at it as if they read your diary. If they get pissed off, it's their own fault for reading in the first place. You have the right to feel anyway you want about anyone you want. *glomps* Besides if you went private look at all the peeps who would miss out on the glory that is Jenna :)

Livejournal is a strange animal.

Everyone, at some point or another, has to come down on this issue. Or complication. It is simultaneously your journal and a public forum. I don't know. I know i've had to deal with it. If you don't give out the address willy-nilly, you're a bit safer. And if you're worried about certain entries, you can "friends-only" or "privatize" those entries. But, and i try to hold to this, this is your journal. So write what you want. But be ready for what that can mean.

I know i haven't helped. But it seems a very real coming-of-livejournal-age event to ponder friends-only or even leaving LJ after something or some worry strikes.

Anyway, Merry Christmas, though i bet i'll be reading you before then.

I had the same issue before the fall semester started. I was dating someone who was a loser but was excited anyway about it since it had been a long time since I had dated last. Well, the girl who set me up with him read my live journal about it and got pissed because I was so excited about it. Yes, sounds rediculous, I know. So, she IMed me and said "aren't you getting a little too carried away with this tony thing?" Then later she read my journal about how stupid I thought he was and how happy I was to have Mark in my life. I had ditched Tony, realizing how badly I was being treated and found basically the love of my life. Now, she got pissed at that of course via my livejournal. Needless to say, she is no longer speaking to me and I could care less. My point, who gives a sh*t what other people think on this thing. It's for you and those who care about you. For those people who aren't around you all the time to be able to know what's going on and perhaps help you in whatever ails you. :) SO, KEEP ON WRITIN' SISTA!!

As you should well know, I'd come into this problem many times before. I think that if a journal is public, it's basically allowing the world to see whatever you have to say.
It all depends on how comfortable you are with what you say. I'm not comfortable with the fact that I bother people with what I say, so I censor a lot of what I say, for tact's sake, even on a friends setting. As for you...? Well, who knows - I'd encourage you to keep doing what you want to do. If they're offended or what-not but what you say, then I think they should be.

Tha nature of a journal is that it is a reflection of your personal thoughts and feelings at a particular time and due to a particular situation. The reality is you have a right to express those feelings anyway you want...although so does everybody else. *sweatdrop* I say...yeah...you're gonna care what they think but if they know that you love them...albeit they get on your nerves at times...*shrugs*..you should be able to say what you think. Keep posting. It's nice hearing from you. ^_^ *glomps*

After Todd and I broke up I started getting lots of hate notes and such so I uped my sercurity and its amazing. The biggest reason I did it was because its MY lj and I should get to say whatever I want however I want. But that's just me ;) Good luck!!
