ALL OF THIS ALL OF IT ALL OF IT ALL OF IT

Except this:

This is the first time that, ON A MAJOR PRIMETIME SHOW, girls like girls just because they like girls, not for the amusement of men.

There have definitely been others. Buffy the Vampire Slayer alone had two canon lesbian couples during the course of the show. You could argue it wasn't a "major" primetime show, but it was pretty huge and definitely made a difference. I don't know if you've seen it, but they specifically put the show's first onscreen girl/girl kiss in an episode where it wouldn't be a big deal in the context and didn't advertise it at all beforehand.

But this is definitely one of the first times bisexual women have been on a major TV show, and I'm so so excited to see it. Plus, it helps with the rampant biphobia in "Blame It on the Alcohol."

BRO I AM ONLY ON THE FIRST SEASON OF BUFFY SPOIL ME NO MORE

Except that spoiler's so damn awesome I don't care. :)

And I'm really glad I'm not the only one who saw all the biphobia in there. I mean, yeah, Blaine stood up for himsef and didn't let Kurt just sit there and blather on biphobically, but there were no repercussions for him. I did not at all see Kurt as learning his lesson there. My friends were all like OMG OMG KURT AND BLAINE OMG and I am just like I'M SORRY DID NONE OF YOU SEE THE EPISODE I SAW? DID WE WATCH DIFFERENT THINGS LAST NIGHT?

Oh goodness, you will LOVE Buffy. It's tied with Doctor Who as my favorite show ever, and I'm actually planning to start a rewatch blog soon, because it's high time for me to watch it all over again. That is all I'm saying. *zips lips*

No, I definitely saw it, and a LOT of other people did too, which made me feel a lot better. I really liked Blaine's monologue, but the fact that Kurt never actually got called out, the fact that Rachel completely ignored the existence of bisexuality as well, and the fact that it was resolved that quickly and basically just turned into a joke were really worrying for me. They've done so much good with Kurt, and if they wanted to do stuff like that just because it's *in character,* they need to stop using him and the show (which, frankly, is too silly and inconsistent to take that seriously anyway, much as I sometimes love it) to ~make statements~. Plus the fact that Ryan Murphy had said previously not that Blaine would question HIS sexuality, but that he would question whether bisexuality exists. ( ... )

If Brittana hadn't happened here I would have been so pissed.

I can't help but wonder if Kurt's biphobia will come up again in the context of Brittana? Maybe when they get together, it will come to a head with Kurt not believing they're really bi, either they're straight girls trying to get guys or lesbians, and the girls (+ Blaine?) retaliating and he learsn his lesson lah dee dah the end cool story bro.

And oh do not get me started on the writing problems with Glee....
