When my boyfriend, Jack, came home on Tuesday night with no roses or chocolates, I knew that he had forgotten about Valentine's Day. I was upset but I didn't show it.
"How was work?" I asked as he headed to the bedroom.
"It was fine!" came from the bedroom as I headed to the kitchen to see to supper.
Next thing I knew Jack was in the room bent down on one knee with a ring box.
I didn't know whether I wanted to kiss him or give him a black eye. Maybe both?
