Summary: Jade Kai loses all she ever cared about.
"Jade Kai, you are hereby stripped of your Psychologist licence and are dismissed immediately from the Time Guardian Agency."
Jade heard the Director's voice through a thick haze that engulfed her. She couldn't do anything but just blink as her brain struggled to process what just happened. Already a sense of detachment was settling over her and she felt herself drifting away if it wasn't for the pair of hands gripping her arms tightly.
"We are going to fight this, Jade!" Audrey, her teammate from the Time Guardian Agency, declared. "They can't do this to you!"
"Don't worry, we will fix this." Nathan add as he directed Jade over to a chair. "Why don't you sit down here while Kurt gets some water for you."
He gently helped her sit down before running his hand gently down her arm in sympathy.
As much as she was grateful for her friends' help and concern, Jade just felt numb. For her, the road that was never too long had suddenly grown twice its length and now seemed to go on forever. She had thought that she had achieved her life's dream of becoming a Psychologist and getting her spot of the Time Guardian's Agency but now that was being taken from her leaving her with nothing.
