Summary: The inky darkness threatened to consume her, but Donna couldn't move. She had no idea how long she stared down into the abyss of nothing.
The inky darkness threatened to consume her, but Donna couldn't move. She had no idea how long she stared down into the abyss of nothing. She opened her eyes wide, hoping that she had been dreaming, but all she saw was black surrounding her. Then fire started to creep up her legs, making her feel hot and feverish. Suddenly a star shot down towards her, lighting up the abyss.
As the star fell closer and closer, Donna could see that it actually wasn't a star instead it was made up of words "Not Good Enough". As it passed her, it almost seemed to tease her with its overwhelming brightness. Finally it sunk down into the dark nothing and was gone. But a second later, she noticed another word star rushing towards her, "Wasting Life Away". Then it too was swallowed by darkness.
Then as if it was a cue, word stars started to fall faster and faster until there was so many that the darkness was swallowed by the light.
But Donna still couldn't move. She was blinded by the bright light and felt the lick of the fever become hotter and hotter almost as if it wanted to eat her alive.
In that moment, the light dimmed enough so that Donna could see that there were now pictures and videos floating in front of her instead of the word stars. In every picture and video, she could see herself.
Donna gasped as she realized that in fact she had been staring into the abyss she called her life.
