This sounds like such an interesting idea, at least as like -- a main character plot line? Urgh, sorry. I'm so anti-captivity that while I love the idea of you writing a novel about a character trying to prove herself to everyone and gaining strength by doing so and beating something she had no control over (which I can definitely kind of understand, just not nearly to the extent of a disabled person), I legit just cringed at reading it took place at a dolphin trainer/ing center. (Kind of the same way I cringed at Dolphin Tale, Deep Blue Sea, Zeus and Roxanne...)

That being said, don't let my whole anti-cap view make you feel bad or guilty or anything. It's your book and I don't expect you to change it at all. And it really does sound like an interesting idea!

First of all, thanks for reading over my idea!

Secondly, yes this is mainly a character driven plot line where I focus more on the MC's struggle to overcome her disability and prove to herself and everyone else that she is quite capable. That being said, I personally love water and know about hydrotherapy which is a fantastic therapy for people with disabilities. So I wanted to bring it a step further and add in the animal element to the therapy (in this case dolphins).

I am sorry if I triggered something and by no means did I ever think of it as supporting captivity. I'm against captivity especially as we think that we run the world, There are other animal therapies such as horses that might work out although I have to see how since my MC does use a wheelchair. I will seriously consider changing that element of the story if it works out.
