Honestly - I don't know what to think, but I don't want to see other countries exploiting or imposing regulations that are based with evil intentions. Keep it the way it is I say! Any thoughts.....

sigh...

Noone can 'control' the internet... that is one of the great things about it. The interenet is not a single thing. The internet is the companies and people on it. There is no great server that controls everything, it's thousands and thousands of servers owned by companies and people all over the world who just decided to hook up to each other. No force could take that over...

as far as names and numbers IICAN does 'run' (sort of) the largest registry for names and numbers on the internet right now. However there are other ones not run by IICAN... what is even more interesting is that IICAN doesn't own the servers running the numbers, each is owned by a different person/company. (I used to work next to one)

if you read some of the articles written by this "Mark Long" asshole, they are all scare! articles... "are you ready to be hacked" and "The mobil data poision pill" this little prick is a conspiricy theorist and should be laughed at just like all the other conspiricy theorists ( ... )

In the state of things now? no...

for something like that to happen a lot of things would have to change and there is no person or company (not even microsoft) with the capital to do something like that.
