a lack of bullshit

Whilst in the shower just 10 minutes ago, I realized that I had one new and one not so new hero. My not so new hero would be John Lennon, and my new hero is George Carlin. I love love love love them both so much. I think that there presence in this world has affected many people. Maybe not in ways that they have liked, but at least to make the ( Read more... )

i guess that last quote you put up there made me sad :-\

it kinda bothers me how ppl misconcept that religion is all about rules and money ... when in fact it's about an amazing freedom. i dunno if those ppl who assume this about religion have ever been a part of a serious religion before. b/c maybe if they have seriously been a part of a religion, they would think differently. they would know the truth, and not what they hear other ppl say about it. but oh well i guess ... that's those ppls' decisions. and i also wish ppl a part of a religion would stop giving religion such a bad name ... those ppl (to me) don't know the real truth behind it. and those ppl push everyone away from it, making them believe that it's stupid and not worth it ... when in fact, it's worth everything put into it. hmm ...

~just some thoughts i do guess~

i think that it's awesome how you're not swayed easily by what other ppl say or want you to do, and peer pressure and the sort. it's a great quality for a person to have, and will definitely get you far ... and as you said, it already has! i think that there are a lot of people out there who claim to believe in something, and go about sharing their belief in the wrong way. like, they don't know the whole truth about their religion and whatnot, and some put it in their own view and own story. and i agree about the whole judging-thing ... it aggravates the heck outta me. cause you are right ... there is that verse about judging others ... you're not supposed to, and no one really has the right to. but, people do ( ... )

I'm glad that we can talk about this too. You can write as much as you want. Like you pointed out, it gives me things to think about. i mean, i understand that what i say is not going to change your views or anything, but I think it's important in the world to understand each others views so maybe we can find some sort of common ground. anyways, thanks for sharing your thoughts. feel free to keep going if you want.

"I can fall asleep at night and not have any guilt about the day that has just passed. I can think for myself without having anyone or any text assist me. I have chosen to leave the path. It was then that I was able to see the truth of beauty and disgrace. And I have never been more alive." I agree 100%...
You should not have to devout your life and obey all rules 24/7. People screw up and I know God forgive but the thing that bothers me in the end, is you should not have to beg him for acceptance. I mean I don't go out and try to commit evil deeds. I think I have good moral and judgment not to screw up. I think thats all you need.
Blah..

Well said nick. I honestly believe that the Beatles had it right with "love is all you need". I have thought about this all night. And I think my main problem with Christianity, and it's one major fault is... you can be the kindest, warmest, most generous, and peaceful person, and if you are not a christian you are going to hell. Someone, please explain to me how that is right on any level? This goes back to the days of kings and their divine authority crap. It doesn't matter what kind of a person you are, if you do not worship the king, you are going to be beheaded. Same with God and Jesus as far as christians believe. I suppose that is why we have the term god-fearing. Anyways, my statement is, if all this does turn out to be real... If Jesus is going to come back to earth one day and take all the true Christians with him up to heaven for eternity, and everyone who doesn't believe is going straight to hell then... I'm damn proud to be going to hell and knowing in my heart that I lived a full and happy life. And while i'm ( ... )

like i see what youre saying about all that ... and i guess the main thing that keeps me believing in something i have never seen before is the sensation i get from having this relationship with God. like, it brings joy to my life like nothing else i've ever experienced. it's hard to explain (as i've told so many people before). my favorite thing to do is to worship Him through song and praise and dance and whatnot. i can really feel His presence. just the feeling ( ... )
