I am so TIRED.

Okay, I'm awake again. I'll do my best to stay awake through this entry, but I got a maximum of four hours of sleep last night. The reason why?

CORIANNE AND BURKE WERE HERE THIS WEEKEND!

My wonderful sister and her equally wonderful husband (seen below doing his famous "Sideways Pole Hang" while my sister watches and tries not to laugh) drove up from Las Vegas to attend Burke's mom's wedding. They got to our house Saturday morning at 2 am and left for the wedding at noon. Considering that they woke up at 9, I woke up at 11 and they were getting ready for the wedding from 11 'till noonish, that didn't leave much time for us to talk to each other. They got back from the wedding arount 10 on Saturday night.

Now, I haven't seen my sister for about a month, and her computer (which in turn means her email) is not working. We haven't had the opportunity to talk to each other and tell each other stories and laugh and squeal and do the kind of sistery things we usually do. This lack of communication resulted in a late-night gab fest that lasted until 3 am, Sunday morning.

We talked about anything and everything and all that's in between. She told me stories about her church calling in her new ward (she's teaching Sunday School to a class of six 11 year old boys and one 11 year old girl), about her frustration with not being able to find a job beyond temping with her degree and experience in the medical field, and about the decorating scheme in their apartment (she's going with a kind of oriental/homespun theme, combining Burke's Chinese and Korean things with all the hand-me-downs that they've recieved to furnish their apartment). I told her stories about my summer job (which will inevitably be the subject of several posts this summer if I keep up my promise to post often), my friends and their friends (including the time last week when a friend of a friend got banned from the local McDonald's for walking through the drive-through...6 times), and about the 'exciting' things I have planned for the rest of the summer (not a heck of a lot).

Burke demonstrated his incredibly sarcastic and trickstery sense of humor. My favorite bit of the night:

Burke and Corianne and my little sister are talking about something. I don't remember what it was. Without any warning, he stands up and starts shaking my little sister by the shoulders, shouting something about incompetence and incapability. Then he sits back down and apologizes, telling my little sister that he was "very sorry, but I couldn't do that to my wife because I didn't want to hurt the baby." Wait for mom to hit the floor. Cori is NOT pregnant and has NO plans to become so in the near future, but they sure do enjoy teasing us about it.

After all of this family fun, I had to get up at 7:30 to go to church this morning. I'm fairly sure that I slept through most of it. I couldn't tell you anything about what we learned/talked about/were supposed to know, anyway.

Corianne and Burke are now on their way back to Nevada in their decrepit Honda with its barely-functioning air-conditioning. I pity them, really I do.

In other news, we made cream puffs today. They're really, really good; if a little messy. *grins and wipes the cream off of her forehead*
