Ugh.

"Eat Pray Love" is now a movie, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. And "from the creator of Glee", how completely not surprising. One of my least favorite books in the world becomes a movie from the person responsible for my single least favorite scripted show in the world ( Read more... )

I tried to like Glee, but it just made it so hard; now I just fastforward to the musical numbers. No idea what's going on, but that's a good thing from what I've heard.

I agree completely about Lie To Me, and the House thing is perfect. I'm going to look out for "The Gates", though, it sounds like it'd be right up my street. :D

The Gates is basically a soap opera with paranormal people in it. It's really lulzy, and I can't stop watching it! I might just have to see if it's got a fandom, the mundane vigilante cop guy and the husband of the vampire couple would make interesting fic fodder. I know it's all online, if you can get it in the UK? Never sure what is and isn't country-restricted.

I tried with Glee too. Got through about three episodes, and I ended up wanting to throw things at my screen in every one of them. It's like every *ism you can name all concentrated in one place. And an adultery plot that I think you're supposed to cheer for (since they made the wife every awful gold-digger stereotype you can think of), which alone is enough to put me off.

That sounds perfect. :D I'll have a look for it later when things have calmed down.

I managed to get as far as Artie declaring that he would dedicate his life to getting out of the wheelchair and then couldn't make it any further.

Some folks in my household are hooked on SYTYCD and so I watch a fair amount of it. I've come to the conclusion that 90% of contemporary bores the everliving fuck out of me. Ugh.

The judges this round have been, erm. Jawdroppingly racist from Mia, too. And, uh. Wow.

IA on the contemporary. Oh yay, more people throwing themselves around the floor in angsty ways as a way to emote through angsty ballads. I like the hip-hop (when it's not NappyTabs) and I love the ballroom. And the paso doble.

I can't handle Mia in any capacity whatsoever. She's horrid. And him perving all over the barely adult female dancers, and being all "you must be properly manly" on the male ones. I love some of the dancing, but the judges are odious. I'm almost nostalgic for Screaming Mary.

As a recent divorcee who has had that stupide book shoved down her throat by everyone, I'm giving the movie the finger, and joining you in your Twilight marathon.

I feel for you having that book shoved at you! It's so offensive-- obviously people in other countries exist solely to provide therapy to a wealthy white divorcee.

Ick. Bring on the sparklepires.

I have not seen the new season of Lie To Me yet, it makes me sad to hear that they're ruining it. :(

I have been meaning to watch The Gates.

With Lie to Me it's like they've taken everyone's personality traits and turned them up to eleven, especially Cal. He was always kind of a "yeah he's an asshole, but at least he's *our* asshole" kind of character, but now he's just nasty and mean to an almost intolerable degree. Lots of shippy stuff, too, it's become very fanficcy.
