The one thing I will always remember was sitting on the sidewalk with all our neighbors from the cluster of townhouses and looking up at the stars.

Thank you for sharing. It is helpful to remember and take note.....even if not so wonderful experiences. I know for me I wonder if I have changed and grown at all. Then, by remembering these times, I know that persevering is growing.

Best wishes to you!

Northridge was our first earthquake. No phones, no electricity, debris everywhere... yeah, quite a memory. But we came through it and so did the house we were renting, and in a couple of days we got things picked up and moved on. Only time in my *life* I've asked my doc for something to help me sleep. And used the pills....

And I think your having shoes and a flashlight and all next to the bed is a very fine thing to do. Lots of people get hurt walking barefoot on broken glass.

Sorry my comment is so belated, but here's hoping you never have to go through such a traumatic experience again!

I can't tell if you like living where you are, now, or if it hurts a little because it reminds you of that day?

Bottom line: peace to you and all whom you love.
