I'm depressed.  It feels like I'm disconnected from everything in some fundamental way, like I have this vibe that just says "ignore me".  It's not that I want attention, because it's a bit more complex than that.  I don't want to be noticed.  I want to interact.  I want to be able to talk to someone and not feel like their counting down the ( Read more... )

I wish I could say something helpful here, but I've often found myself in a similar boat. I have quite a few online friends, but when it comes to having people to hang out with IRL, I fall a little short. As it is, friends of Josh's and mine are back in MI getting married this weekend, and we don't know how we're going to spend the time we usually spend with them. I'm sure it won't be a problem for us, but we're both so used to having each other around that we don't really go out to meet other people all that often.

Sometimes, like when his schedule's all wonky, it gets a bit lonely. I'm not used to reaching out to non-Josh people to make plans.

You sillies...

Just talk to some nice people that you think you might like and either ask them out on a date, or ask them to simply hang out. :) It's easy as that. Think of a place to meet, then you guys can make plans and go out to eat/go for walks/look at birds/whatever it is you freaks do in Kentucky.
+GROUPS are especially good. Ask 2-3 people to go and do stuff with you. Make sure everyone's in agreement, set up a time, a place, and just go for it.
It's definitely okay to make the first move. In fact, it's probably even welcome. :)
Just go for it!

...but not with nasty, stinky people who are mean. Those are the bad kinds of people and should be avoided at all costs. >(
