Or so says Katiekay.
Yesterday was fucking ridiculous, in all the best of ways. For those who don't know, it was both A) EAS major senior presentations, and B) WITTFEST!!! Rawr.
So, my presentation was in the very first panel at 9:00 am. I feel like it went pretty well, even though I was strapped for time, and had only put together my notes that morning. I moderated the second panel, and had friends in the third, fourth, and fifth, so I ended up seeing at least half of every single person's presentation. Most of the panels were good, and all of my buddies did well, so a round of high fives all around!
During the Q&As, me and Julijules would occasionally pop out to Wittfest, but not too much was going on in the afternoon. Inflatable games, some bands and dancers and stuff, pretty much the usual. At 1:30 I mixed myself a drink in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mug I'd borrowed from Krista, using the can of coke and little bottle of rum I had tucked away in my bag. I drank it throughout Katiekay's panel, and then mixed another for Juli's, which Kay, Fig and I shared. (Meanwhile, I drew therapeutic pictures, Kai did the wave, and we played too many games of tic-tac-toe.)
Finally it was all over (Juli was literally the last person in the last panel), so me, her, Kay, and Fig went to Applebees for dinner. We ate too much, sat around in Rivendarth digesting and watching a movie about snowdogs, acquired Kai and Aryn, and wandered over to the Wittfest concert at nineish.
At the concert we found a Dan-chan, and watched the band for awhile. There were glowsticks, crowdsurfers, and Canadians. Me, Juli, and Aryn had a brief adventure which I entitled, "Shots in Hollenbeck!" It was pretty much them humoring me while I indulged in a sudden fantasy -- drinking in the classroom building which has harbored me for four years. We went back to the concert for awhile, grabbed the rest of our crew plus Shonkwiler ("I'll shonk your wiler!"), Jake, and eventually Josh, and embarked upon shenanigans. Basically, we "broke in" to the language lab, dicked around for awhile, lost and found Fig's phone, finished off my little bottle of rum, and played an epic game of Sardines.
Josh was the hider, and it took us a good twenty minutes before anyone found him. Kai walked in on a couple going at it in a classroom on the third floor, Jake kept tickling me, and the nine or ten of us were running all around the building while trying not to get caught by security. Me and Jake finally found Josh first -- he was in a stall in the first floor boys' bathroom (where all the drunk Wittfesters were coming to do their business.) So, the three of us all crammed in there, had some hilarious encounters with said drunk people, and Josh literally ripped off the toilet paper thing. (For which I slapped him, to no avail.) Eventually Shonkwiler joined us, and the four of us were trapped in some hilarious contortions until finally the rest of the crew caught wise.
From there, we quickly made our escape, dividing into a few groups to grab supplies before reconvening at the Cottage. On our way there, my group encountered a heated fight on someone's front porch, in which me and Josh almost got hit by a flying bottle. We made it to the Cottage, joined by Krista and Gavin, and continued the party. First we played a neverending game of Crazy Eights, which was eventually abandoned for the most educational round of Never Have I Ever that I've been a party to. GOOD HEAVENS, that's all I'll say.
Then Kantaro called, and in the process of helping him find the house, I stepped out for a minute. By the time we came back (really, only like three minutes later) the orderly circle of people I had left became a mass of wrestling madpersons. I'm still not sure what happened, but whoa. There was much wrestling after that, Katiekay was remarkably drunk and saying hilarious things (as well as sticking my camera down Kantaro's shirt), Gavin showed off his butt-tattoo of his cousin's face, Kantaro and Kai sang some song about the Tokyo Giants (at which point I mortally offended Kantaro by revealing that I am a Hanshin Tigers fan), and then Kai and I made a twoish minute video of ourselves nattering on in Japanese.
Finally, I and a certain spider took our leave, and that was that.
WHAT A DAY! :D
In other news, four papers and two exams stand between me and graduation. We are now officially past the two-week mark. aldaskdfjas;lkjfa!
