I have a once in a lifetime chance right now. I have the chance to go to London in four weeks. I'll be there for 18 days. I have never been overseas, or out of the south east at all, really. So I am incredibly shocked. Me and my mom have to order our tickets before midnight, and I am at a loss. I don't know what to do. I am scared. Scared to be in

Besides, if you don't go, you'll end up regretting it and berating yourself for letting your fears control you.

I've always been scared of travel, but I am used to cars, though crashing is still in the back of my head. I have been in one wreck, and it was so scary! But very minor. I'm such a pussy.
I am scared of being mugged, but I would DEFINITELY give my crap up. Rather it is my DS, or a pack of gum, please take it, just don't hurt me or my mum! I'd probably end up getting shot for being a huge baby and very annoying. Hehe.
I'd love to know about american stereo types... I'm a really obnoxious person. I don't want to get attacked by angry brits. :X

For three weeks.
Don't be emo.
Seriously, I pulled that shit when we went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip back in high school, and I exhausted way too much effort making myself and everyone around me miserable by whining about BEING SEPERATED FROM MY TWOO WUV GIRLFRIEND BACK HOME OMG HOW WILL I EVER *LIVE* FOR TWO WEEKS WITHOUT HER.
Trust me, this is not the end of the world, and it certainly won't be the end of your life. This will rock, and you can bring him back awesome souveniers, not to mention the stories.
And don't let the alarmist fearmongering scare you -- there are thousands of flights a day, with hundreds of thousands of people hopping on and off planes every minute. You're going to LONDON, not BOSNIA.

The chances of getting mugged are pretty slim. The chances of getting pick pocketed are great. It's a tourist city.
Advice: buy a pouch to wear under your shirt around your neck. Put your passport (you have to get that NOW, btw) and your monies in here or in your bra, but nowhere else. NO POCKETING IT. Don't keep anything in your pockets, and keep a close eye on any shoulder/hand bag that you have with you. Chances are, you won't get mugged. You have a much greater chance of getting pick pocketed, but follow my advice, and you'll be fine even from that.
For kicks, put a "million" dollar bill (have you seen those?) in your pocket and leave them a love note. "For the one who picked my pocket -- and my heart XOXO Chelsea" or something lame like that. That way, if you are pocketed, you get to laugh about it later.

Yeah, my mum has been there and she knows how to do those things! I did it at Disney World, but it is SOOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE! Ill prolly get a fanny pack or something to wear. Ugly... Yes. But they are comfy. Plus I can decorate it wil pins and stuff. :)
That's an awesome idea about the money thing! !I will DEFINITELY do that.
