day in my life: january 29th 2010
hello everyone!
my name is bailey. I live in portland, maine.
this is a day in my life during which the temperature drops to -2, but we enjoy it anyway.
good morning kisses.

what I see when I wake up.
oh yes bedhead.
kiki and zissou demand attention.
dressed. make-up and hair done.
teeths brushed!
kitties fed.
bed made.
eric, who is already wearing five layers, insists that I bundle up because it is insanely cold.
so I bundle. now we are ready for the day.
drive to jonah's apartment.
oh hi jonah! we drive jonah to the landlord office.
I am still cold, so eric gives me a blanket.
good morning portland.
jonah runs his errand.
hello ocean! we bring jonah back to his apartment and head to the mall to pick up my phone charger.
in typical bailey fashion, I forgot to charge my camera. my roommate charlotte has it in her car at work.
charlotte works at best buy.
oh hi charlotte!
[my camera dies at this point. we drive home to let it charge.]
we drive to the dogfish cafe (where eric's roommate drew works)
for lunch with eric's parents, sister, and her boyfriend.
[my phone dies now. so no pictures of inside the restaurant.
we eat lunch and head back to my apartment to pick up camera.]
lunch leftovers: eric had a tomato, pesto, mozzarella sandwich on a baguette,
and I had a sauteed mushroom, roasted tomato, spinach, and honey mustard pita.
so delicious.
we swing by the cinema where eric works to pick up his check and cash it at the bank.
best chapstick in the entire world.
and drive to the cryptozoology museum.
we've been meaning to check this place out for a while.

swamp monster!
after the museum tour is over we walk to the asian market.
delicious azn foods.

we buy candies!

on the way home we see this car.
I see it around town once in a while and it always makes me laugh.
drive to the western promenade. sun is getting low.
eric drives me back to my apartment.
he has a meeting with his landlord.
charge my phone.
and head down to the kitchen.
dishes must be done.
dishing being done.
dishes are done!
move the scallops to my fridge shelf to thaw.
grab a bottle of h2o.
and do some internets.
eric comes home! time to start dinner.
I change into my comfy clothes.
and my indoor boots.
we head down to the kitchen and break open the mead.
getting ready to make dinner.
eric does some internets.
my apron that I adore.
and I finish thawing the scallops.
making sweet potatoes.
cooking cooking cooking.
and the finished product: lemon herb scallops & cod, spinach, rice pilaf, and sweet potatoes.
we settle down to eat.
and watch some hulu.
we put away leftovers and head up to my bedroom. eric gets comfy. he loves his new boots.
watch some colbert. I crack open a diet pepsi.
charlotte visits us.
hear some noise downstairs and go to investigate.
oh hi alex!
my other roommate katie is getting ready to go out.
everyone together!
bring up the rice crispy treats and brownies we made yesterday.
and settle down to watch perfume.
nighttime cuddles.
I actually fall asleep as the movie is ending at about 11.
so I leave you with this picture of my mantle, which is the last thing I see before I go to bed.
