You can always pretend you don't know them. And if anyone glances your way you can yell I DON'T KNOW THEM THEY'RE JUST FOLLOWING ME OKAY?! in a maniacal fashion. Would be very amusing.
Except for the person being yelled at, who might find it a little bit creepy.
