Whilst practicing my driving today (for I am going to pass my next exam, I am! I am!), for the first time in many a year or two I remembered to tune into Monday night Metal on 88.5fm (local community radio station fewels). Now for some reason I recall getting quite a few good bands from listening but tonight I've either gone crazy and 110% more ( Read more... )

Hey Liza. You need to recommend some metal bands to me. Except no growling, I don't like growling, and no I don't know why. :|

GIVE ME A BIG FAT LIST. :D

You're never really going to enjoy true metal until you learn to love the growl/screech/(ostrich noise).

Well, I suppose it depends on the type of growling.

Also, if lots of guitars are involved, that is an automatic A+ and I don't give a shit. :D

No... growling? XO ... Okay... I'll reccomend you some Power Metal then...

Helloween, Blind Gaurdian, Avantasia, Freedom Call, Battlelore, Rhapsody, Symphony X, Dungeon and The Gathering(but they're not power, still awesome).

Eh, that's not a very big list. Sorry, I'm not really a big melodic metal fan. ^^'

PEE ESS.

Even I wonder what the fuck metal station plays nothing but nu-metal and grindcore and still calls itself 'metal'. :|||

I (unfortunately) like System of a Down, but if they were playing Linkin Park, I suggest you bust a cap in their asses.

Yeah, well, I got into them in something like 1999/2000 so a wee while before I got really into extreme metal. Plus I don't consider them to be nu-metal, or metal at all, they're alternative or just 90's/00's radio rock. Plus their music is fun, catchy and well written. Good enough for me. ^_^
