As I sit in my house each day, the explosions from Fallas grow louder and louder. Kids all over the street are setting off firecrackers, which I think might be a bit hazardous, but I suppose it is normal. As long as nobody gets hurt, that is all that matters. I was watching CNN with Frenchie last night and we saw this story about a terrorist attempt on a French railroad. He described it as a "French Mazcleta". I just about fell off the couch in hysterical laughter. Last night while leaving the conservatory I met this viola instructor who asked me if I was a student there. When I explained what I was doing, he said he earned his masters at Yale and spent two and a half years there. We talked a lot on the bus ride home, and he got off a couple stops before I did.
