If I understand it right, I'm pretty sure I've been there before. You can totally love someone but not be ready to be in love because its a matter of not wanting to get hurt. You can love someone but still have walls built up around your heart making it hard for you to totally submit yourself too it for the fear of your heart getting broken. All it takes is being hurt really bad once or twice to be super cautious in giving someone your heart even if you really love them.

Don't take it personally, it probably has nothing to do with you. I think time and patience are the only things that make that get better.
