Whenever I read a book, especially novels, I tend to write and highlight in them a lot. I have always been taught that it is a good habit to write your own thoughts and opinions or highlighting words in the text so that it may help you better understand of what you are reading. I love highlighting words too! It is also a great useful resource to look up words that we don't understand from the dictionary! It is a great tool and vocabulary builder. After all who doesn't want to sound smarter?? :)

Hello pinky" I like that you mention the techniques you use for school literature and made that separate then how you read for pleasure for entertainment value. You had some great insight for other students to be more productive and retain more information in their studies.

In studies I'd highlight some, but not much. I'm more of a sticky note person, since they can be removed without damaging the book.
