i'm officially really retarded. last night, i was looking at my pictures on my camera, and went to the format memory card screen to see how much space i had left, and accidentally hit 'format memory card'. and of course the camera doesn't give a warning screen that says ' are you SURE you want to format your memory card?' because i would have said
