Tonight Fox aired the final four episodes of Arrested Development - all together in one lump sum so as to quickly get rid of its obligation to the show's fans. maybe the public just cant stand behind comedies unless there's a laugh track. i watched all four. i didnt know the series was being cancelled. i wasnt a regular watcher, but i've seen a fair share. i didnt take the comment at the end as an allusion that they'd make a movie out of it, it just seemed like the perfect oppurtunity to throw in that particular ironic joke. it would definitely make for a strange film.

the superbowl commercial for Vendetta got me interested.

I don't know if it's the fact that it doesn't have a laugh track. I think maybe it's sitcoms that choose to not have a laugh track tend to be appealing to a narrower population than traditional sitcoms, by their nature. But I never really thought about how poor the track record is for comedies without a laugh track until you mentioned that. Although, I have no idea how The Office and My Name is Earl are doing in the ratings ( ... )
