I need to try and remember what a pain in the ass dealing with people is, especially realtors. I should plan out what I do in life with the one goal of avoiding people all together. That would be great

It's not really a question of privacy, it's that LJ is now completely under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation. The new TOS that you had to agree to doesn't even have any legal status because it's a translation. Only the original Russian one does, so unless you read Russian, there's no way to know if the translation is even a good one. If you write anything that violates laws passed by the Russian Federation, they could take down your journal. I don't know about you, but I have no idea what laws have been passed by the Russian Federation. Many are saying that the non-Russian side of LJ is too small for them to be that bothered about, and that may well be true, but I, and many others, aren't at all comfortable with this situation. That's why many, including me, are now making Dreamwidth our main base and cross-posting here. That way, if something were to happen to our journals here, we'd still have everything over on DW.
