Next week is the official Start of the Fall 2007 semester.

I would vote for number 2....Just dont come off like a know it all professor

I'd suggest the happy medium of casual student, and semi professional professor. It's important to relate on the level of the students to keep them engrossed, but it's also important to maintain your professoral visage too. To that end, I'd say button down shirt, some nice pants, and be yourself.

Remember, fake don't fly.

i will go for number 2. Professional, yet approachable, it's nice to keep a respectable distance to tell them that there is a teacher-student relationship first and foremost.
