North Woods by Daniel Mason

The only way to understand the world as something other than a tale of loss is to see it as a tale of change. This is somehow the 113th book I've read this year?! I don't feel like I've been reading more, or reading shorter than usual books; in fact I feel like I read more than a few doorstoppers this year ( Read more... )

Are you on that site where people on Facebook were like, "ditch Goodreads and join this black woman-owned book user social media site which is much better" (can't remember the name of the site right now, sorry)? I'm sort of curious what's different/better about it. I think being owned by Amazon is why people have a beef with/try to avoid Goodreads, but other than that I like it fine.

No, I only use Goodreads as a place to keep track of books I want to read, so I don't really see any reason to leave it

No kids ; ) I have a lot of time to read. I also read fast, and take any opportunity to do so. Like even if I'm just in line at the grocery store for a few minutes, I'll get out my phone and read whatever I currently have loaded on Kindle.

Reading while in line; those were the days. I am a slow reader. My best (no-kids, full time job) was 30-something. I tried North Woods for a bit recently but I get overwhelmed easily these days, knew I couldn’t. Kudos!
