Personality: Zexion is well-educated and highly intelligent, having studied with some of the brightest scholars in his homeworld since a very young age. His intelligence serves as both a blessing and a curse, being not only the reasons for his success and progresses in life, but also reason for being seen as competition in need of elimination. Oh, and his highly-evolved thought processing gives him a pretty big ego. He's a master of manipulation (earning him the title "The Cloaked Schemer") and so has a hard time believing that anyone can outsmart him. It doesn't help that he was the youngest of Ansem the Wise's apprentices (by a longshot-- think kid genius) and throughout his life, has always been on-par or smarter than his peers and superiors.
A lot of times, Zexion can come off as very a bit condescending. He often gives an aura of supremacy, and talks down a lot to others. He is not one for outright insults, but that doesn't mean he doesn't insult people, just subtly. After all, Zexion has a lot of control over what he says and tends to think about everything before it leaves his mouth. He also does smirk sometimes, and that may be seen as sort of… his quiet little way of insulting someone.
Most of the time, Zexion does not command a room. He is not a leader and chooses to be this way. He'd rather be an integral gear in the inner workings than the representative. He avoids "getting his hands dirty," which means that he will often be in the background, pulling strings. Again, his skill is manipulation. Although he is the lowest in rank among the original six members, Saïx saw him as an obstacle and Zexion probably held himself very highly to this ideal. He plans everything out to the letter so he often has a "part" to play and won't really come out of the woodwork until necessary. Although he keeps a lot on his mind, he has very good cataloguing skills and therefore, is very good at keeping track of things.
When things don't go the way Zexion plans, he loses his cool, fast and hard. He has a basic survival instinct, like everyone else, but his logical and analytical mind can get in the way of that, which causes him to rationalize others' behavior in his favor instead of thinking maybe he should run away.
Although Zexion may be kind of a bitch, he's got a sense of duty. He is mostly obedient and colors within the lines. Going in line with not wanting to dirty his hands, he also doesn't want to cause a lot of trouble. He also has good faith in the Organization, despite it becoming unraveled in front of his eyes, so he is not pessimistic. Additionally, Zexion can be very informative, and when he is, he's very detailed about it. He is patient with others (this might be a form of condescension, but I'm going to put it in this section because it seems rather thoughtful of Zexion anyway) and he is also polite, so he won't interrupt someone when they're speaking (but although it's rude, if he thinks someone is being incorrigibly stupid, he'll probably walk away!)
He's very hardworking (look at him-- does he look like an underachiever to you?) when it comes to matters he finds important. He works very diligently and thoroughly, and would probably be someone you want on a job (probably better independently, or he might piss off your work team). He doesn't think too well of the lazy or the stupid.
Zexion is mostly serious, but he can also appreciate a little humor (at least, a sort of dark, morbid humor.) In the manga (so I'm not sure how much people count this as "canon") he is seen playing Twister with a coworker, and he also is assigned the fewest housework duties of his group. This is not because he is incapable; in fact, the assignment of work seem to be 'random', but it is likely that he chose the easiest tasks for himself. Additionally, Zexion also enjoys reading and is not very vain and likes long walks on moonlit beaches.

[ However, downstairs is a different matter. He was looking for the exit, but now he's caught up looking at these bizarre photographs of… him… and Vexen, and the Replica, and… two females he doesn't recognize. ]
