i spent the first few years of my life in a small apartment building in maracaibo. the consierge had a dog named bambi, my mother tells me, and whenever i would see it i would shout "bambi. bambi." bright mind that i was, i made an essential conjecture: birds in the sky, fish, lizards, cats + cows, all of god's creatures all became "bambi. bambi."
