I've got to talk to you, Mika.

If you like the music, then there's nothing wrong in listening to it. I sort of know where you're coming from, though, as I'm pretty self-conscious about what I listen to (though its pretty much anything that takes my fancy).

Out of curiosity, I downloaded a Mika song (Relax, Take It Easy) and really, really like it. Pretty catchy and pop-ish. He does remind me of the man in Scissor Sisters.

I wish I had a black swooshy coat. :)

(Oh, and thanks very much for your comment on my journal post. I wasn't sure how to respond (still am not), but it was greatly appreciated.)

Mika's Love Today is a really good song. it's his second single out, the first one is Grace Kelly.

the Scissor sisters are funny; I can like them because they're conciously cheesy. Mika, I'm not sure of. :p

your journal struck me as a warning... sometimes, I don't know what to say about what other people put, too. (especially when they're talking about the depiction of yaoi when you are in fact straight.)

Uh-huh? You not a yaoi fan, then, or do you not know what you think of it (sorry if I should know this, can't recall you mentioning it before)?

It is one of those tricky subjects, only made trickier by the fact that the vast majority of slash/yaoi fanfic writers are female and straight. As such, it can cause some awkward, odd questions, especially from those who don't know how fandom works. If yaoi was written almost exclusively by gay men, and yuri by gay women, I bet there'd be less difficulty....
