Hell, I am a lesbian and the word can crack me up. Though "enternamehere is of Lesbos" is guaranteed to make me howl. And yes, I have seen that in fic before. Mindnumbing, eh?

Yes, I've had that sort of thing before. I'll be safely reading KiGo and suddenly, one of the quick quips the authors put in completely break the moment;

"Why do you keep talking about my ass all the time?"
"It's big - lots of territory to cover."

yeah, "Of Lesbos" makes it hard for me to watch the history channel.

one of my friends exploits my weakness; he knows that if I'm reading or otherwise occupied, he only has to drop the word "Lesbian" at the end of an unrelated sentence for me to look up and say "what?"
