Rebates are one of the biggest scams known to man.

I bought my external hard drive on Black Friday, and only *now* am I receiving word that the check is being printed and shipped.

I don't expect to see the rebate on my new cell phone until April. APRIL!

Well, someone used those key codes, which, if nothing else, speaks towards very bad security at either CA or Staples.

But yeah, it's shitty of them to jerk you around like that. I'm glad someone was thoughtful enough to help you.

are you still actually unable to use the product? if so, are you trying to get the rebate refund, or just trying to get the UPC information to return it? it smacks more of incompetance than fraud, but awfully convoluted either way. i hope the person you reached can sort it out.

ick. that happened to me once, the key code being used. But i just called customer support(This was EA games) and they just issued me a new one.

Similarly my brother bought burning crusade, and doesn't need the discs, just the key code. I was debating exchanging the game, and getting a new one for myself. Which would cause the same problem for whoever boughtthe game i re turned.

:( On a happier note, I get Norton Anti-Virus for free through Geneseo if you need it :)
