Oh, it's just ass right away....I thought it was gonna be table of contents, THEN ass!

Hello! Since I've been joining communities and increasing my readership a touch, (and since all the LJ blogs seem to have their own unique format), I thought I'd do another intro page here.

You have found the current web-home of the Sunshine Rewind Institute, wherein myself and my friends are both immersed in, and critical of all things pop cultural, especially retro media and satire.

Here are some of the best themes featured so far : The links go to all the posts under the tag for each theme, so there is much to be scrolled-down to if you are interested. (I don't know why other people's blogs are so hard to navigate. But then other people are hard to navigate, so it makes sense.)

January of 2007 Dreams
dream imagery, lucid dreaming, stories of dreams from myself, and my friends.

February 2007 Animation
The old-fashioned kind, nothing against anime, claymation, or cgi, but this month's theme refers mainly to old-school cartoons and arty hand-drawn animation.

March of 2007 Meditation, Visualization, Hypnosis a hobby/ coping mechanism of mine for fifteen years now, so lots of reviews of audio products that month.

Throughout Sunshine Rewind, but especially April 2007 : Television from the 1970s.
It is very funny and rife with nostalgia for folks my age (last of the baby boomers/ first of the gen x crowd), but my younger friends enjoy it a lot too. We sort of take a sarcastic approach but we love that era very much!

November 2006: the career of one of my favorite artists, Laurie Anderson

This Livejournal often has reviews of what books or films I'm enjoying,
often has a small hypersaturated version of whatever images I've been scanning lately,
and most months have a theme of some sort, with little writings and relevant YouTube clips pertaining to said theme. Yes, anyone can go do a search on You Tube for clips, but it has been said that mine are "brilliantly selected." (and it wasn't just me saying it!)

Usually I use LJ-cuts if I'm going to ramble on about something, so there are usually
links, clips, and sometimes lengthier entries to click on if you have time to read.

Among my interests are: the arts, progressive politics, vegetarian food,
retro (mostly 70s) pop culture and parody, family photos, and metaphysical subjects,
but I'm open to lots of other topics of discussion and I do not expect (nor do I want) everyone to be the same as me.

Always I welcome new friends and I do read my friends page daily.

Scrolling down to October, the theme is Halloween & ghost stories, true or made up,
or stop by and leave a comment about your favorite scary movies!

The comments field is called Your Thoughts,
and to read comments, the link says ssssecretssss

We are currently in the process of not only categorizing and tagging the most interesting previous entries, but also verifying that links and clips still exist, so if you are paging around some sunshiny day, and find a clinker, please notify me so I can restore it to its rewound glory. Thanks!
