This will be a bit of a rerun for this LJ, but for those who
might not have heard of it elsewhere (or here at the SRI last summer),
now we're getting into cookout season, so if you haven't seen this site,
or it's been a while since you saw it, (and you've alretty had breakfast),
you might want to check out James Likek's Gallery of Regrettable Read more... )

Yesterday I was telling my friend Jehoshua (who is from Mad, Whisk) about Gravel, who he'd never heard of. I only saw snippets of the demdebate but, I told Jehoshua, Gravel stood out 'cause he seemed like a person. He asked me what I meant and I don't think I managed to make it entirely clear...

After our sushi lunch (mmmm, kappa maki) he suggested that we (me, him and his wife Mun Ching) rent a movie. I was gently pressing for What Lies Beneath, but Mun Ching gets traumatized by scary movies (good for her -- I wish I wasn't already mostly-desensitized) and we ended up with Little Miss Sunshine. Have you seen it? The pageant at the end was a great metaphor for the demdebate, so after the movie I think they kind of understood what I said about Gravel.

I sent Gravel's campaign a paltry donation. I'm gonna buy Kucinich 2008 teeshirts for my sister and her whole Ohio-countryclub-republican family.
