I found out today that I qualified for a STAR bonus from the state.  This is Florida's merit/incentive pay for teachers system and it's almost entirely based on learning gains and a little bit on performance evaluations.  (See link)  This means that I am in the top 25% of teachers at my middle school, in the sense that my students made the most
