Remember, Remember
The fifth of November,
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

I finally watched it.
I finally watched V for Vendetta.
After the movie it was like sitting in a slight daze, feeling so deeply disappointed that it ended so fast. So acutely distressed that there wasn't any more.
It is without doubt, thought-provoking and seducing. The plot itself, of having a revolutionary-like hero go singlehandedly against the government and seeing his many provocative interactions with people just makes me want to listen and read about him more. (Apart from the fact that he quotes Macbeth, has a share of sarcastic wit and is of seemingly eccentric character )
It also didn't help that I was captured; ensnared by his ideas. (No it wasn't his almost matrix-like poetic fighting style)
I guess the moment that stood out to me was when he broke down despite the whole idea of the mask and his detachment from the world. And if I may be allowed to guess, it is from the weight of a single sentiment that makes it all too much to bear.
Anyhow I was slightly pleased to note there was none of the whole dashing-hero-reveals-self-and-proceeds-to-ravish-heroine cliche, and that is what makes V and Evey's relationship so poignant.
There were some areas that raised questions like where or how he managed to achieve his multitude of resources and what happened between Larkhill and the time he hatched the plan, but I imagine it may be his own devilish chicanery, or I simply need to read the graphic novel.
I probably couldn't word my thoughts and the experience very well but for those of you who haven't watched, please DO.
"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-a-vis an introduction, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

P.S: I counted 49 V-words xD
