I read them when I was a kid, and then in college we had to pick our "dream characters" and learn the parts, and do tons of research as if we were preparing for the roles. We got to pick one ourselves, the class picked one for you, and the teacher picked one for you. I chose Mary. :DDD (I was also given Elphaba (Wicked) and Fanny Brice (Funny Girl) /backstory

So I reread the books and fell right back in love. IT'S JUST SO AWESOME EVERYTHING ABOUT MARY IS AWESOME.

I am so in love with Mary Poppins. ESPECIALLY Julie!Mary. Her not-quite-relationship with Bert is SO SWEET.

I LOVE her with Bert. In the stage show, they take it up a notch, because in the books he's her "beau". But I love how chaste and affectionate they are in the movie.
