Cracker Barrel discriminates? Haven't been to one of those places in years, but it's still not fun to find that a good repository of buttermilk infused treats has damned itself.

they had a policy against openly lgbt employees, saying they supported heterosexual values. on further research, the policy was rescinded in 2002 after a majority shareholder vote (the lawsuits apparently had no effects), but not through any desire on their part. and i can't imagine a place like that has anything succulent enough to make me overcome the bad taste in my mouth of ignoring my principles..

If I'd known this nine years ago, I would have eaten a lot less meals at Cracker Barrel.

And while this calls out for a comment along the lines of buttermilk going sour, well, buttermilk is sort of sour to begin with, so that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

So....he's a gigantic turd. I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I am not. Also, nursing school? Fuck him and his paternalistic shit. That just *reeks* of sexism. Asshole could have at least said "go to medical school." But no, I'm going to bet $20 that he doesn't think girls are smart enough for that.

Please kick him in the nuts from me next time you see him.

to be fair, the nursing school thing is because he works as a respiratory therapist so that's the kind of schooling he himself got and has benefited from - so mainly he's saying his life choices are the best and i should be more like him. feh.
