I didn't get to bed until 1am or so last night. When I was finally in bed, I started wondering, as I usually do when it's that freaking windy, what it would be like if the trees came down in our yard and hit the house. I started wondering how bad the wind would have to be before the house took any damage without the aid of falling trees ( Read more... )

i LOVE windy times at home. im not sure if it was last year or the year before, but one of the huge cottonwoods from the neighbour's yard fell on their garage (you know, by where the llamas used to be), and totally caved in the roof. luckily, however, it didnt collapse the entire structure. i think your trees are too close to the house to gain enough momentum to do any really serious damage.

i want to have chinese food!

what are you talking about? They're SO HUGE AND SCARY! One of the ones in Erin's yard fell over one year and landed RIGHT BETWEEN our house and the neighbours. Em was in the living room at the time with the dog, and they both freaked. It completely crushed the neighbour's shed. I can't imagine what damage it would have done to our house if it had fell just a few feet over.

A friend of my mum's had a cedar in her living room one morning.
