I can't believe I'll be living on Dunk Island in fourteen days! The time has flown and it's kind of freaking me out

U probably know this already but Dunk Island is the most beautiful place in the whole world. Absolutely FLOGS Hamilton Island for rainforest, creeks, waterfalls and beaches. The staff on the island are a bunch of the nicest people you will ever meet and the Strawberry Crush cocktails are humungously addictive. Of course, being located just across the beach from the nicest place int he whole world - Mission Beach - is just an added bonus.

I'll be working there, for six months. I've pretty nervous about it but I think you've made me feel a little better about the whole thing.

You seem to know the island well! Have you stayed there or something?

Stayed there heaps of times and walked over and halfway around the island. It is very laid back and definitely gonna be a massive culture shock compared to Sydney. Mission Beach has a population of only a couple of thousand, Dunk Island would have to have no more than a couple of hundred at the max at any one time taking into account guest numbers. But, it is gorgeous, nice pools, a few activities and then for days off Cairns and Townsville are bus rides away or else plenty of tourist/backpacker related activies - white water rafting, sky diving, reef trips etc. As you will only be there for 6 months should be a nice time for you to detox all that alco out of the system! haha.
