2.Yes we have a HUGE parade called 'Mardi Gras' I understand you guys have this parade or something in new orleans but it means something completely different! I think!
But we are pretty tolerant of the whole gay thing. I accept it cause I have gay friends or know gay people, doesn't mean I'm okay on some things. But I am ok with it. They are people too after all. Newtown is the place to be for tolerance.
I SO have to take you around sydney!!!!! And I'm holding you to it :D
3. Fundraising, short of chocolate selling, car washing, is there anything IT related you can do for people? Typing or babysitting? Basically be at the mercy of people you know!
Thats all l can think of this early hour. But do let me know what yo u come up with.
at the current moment your dollar should do well over here, should almost double in fact, but our dollar to yours sucks! lol
You get to live with the indigenous people? Cool. There are some sensitive spots I'm sure you'll get informed on.
Lolz, I have been keeping my eye on the AUD. I think it was one AUD is worth .80 tenths of the USD.
I'm actually teaching Spanish and Piano to my little brother's friends so hehe, that works.
So then Mardi Gras in Australia is a gay parade? Here in a America it's basically an excuse for people to get drunk and have sex.
I would take you up on that offer to be toured in Sydeny, however being a student ambassador to Australlia, that's pretty much taken care of :(
My main thing is I don't want to go to another country and act like a dumb American. I may be American, but I'm far from stupid. And not to knock on Australia or anyone but I do expect to come across that attitude. I get that predjudice already here. I'm white and American, but I speak fluent Spanish. People don't think expect that from me. *shrugs*
*huggles* Great to hear from you, I'm surprised you still read this journal! And thanks!
I am watching the USD like a hawke, its jumping between 64c - 70c, I think it got to 71 once the other day. But not any higher. But it might be good by then. Cause I'm gate crashing your country next august! WOOT
( ... )
I may have free time in Sydney. I don't know how long I'm going to be in there since I'm hitting possibly every city and place between Sydeny and Carins (yes Brisbane too!) However if I find an opening I'll give you a ring *g*
I'm loud, but far from dumb, naive possibly, but not dumb lol! I tend to do plenty of research about Australia before I go. As an Aussie in America, all we think of is The Crockidle Hunter and Crockidle Dundee (which was a funny movie).
