Yay kumquats! I just bought a bunch from the grocery story yesterday - it's so nice that they're in season again. They don't seem to be nearly as good as the ones I used to get at Berkeley Bowl though.
I normally think of May as the time when I can get them from Berkeley Bowl, though obviously it also stretches a little earlier, and I guess stretches later as well. I don't know how long individual trees keep producing them. According to wikipedia, and individual tree produces about 80 to 100 in a season.
Huh! Well, this miniature tree is doing pretty good, then, because it has 40-some of them right now, and more ripening. I'm having to eat some to keep the tiny branches from breaking under the weight! I hope it keeps producing through May or later, that would be great.
