I read another one of this author's novels (Morgan's Run) and liked it enough to pick up another one of her books. This one was OK but not as good. There was a little too much convenience in the happenings in the story. Too many things that just happened in a timely manner to be realistic for historical fiction.
It was well written and the characters had substance but man were they lucky, or unlucky as the need for drama warranted. I liked that it's set in Australia, a place I don't often think about or hear about in a historical context. And that's about it. ;)
