I wonder what will happen seeing as this was only a couple of months ago: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7072404.stm

It's been going on far too long, now.

From the sounds of it they have won a lot more cases than they have lost, although they haven't won as much in damages/court costs as they lost on that one case.

A few states have passed a law to prevent protests outside graveyards but that may interfere with the First Amendment. It does seem like the courts are going the way of saying offensive speech is not covered under the First Amendment which could see them loose a hell of a lot more money which I don't think they have.

I'm not sure how easy it will be for them to picket Heath Ledger's funeral though as I think he may be just a bit too much in the public eye for them to get away with it.

I don't think the of freedom of speech debate has to continue in regards to them. It would be highly contradictory for them to say it was wrong only in their case.

All families applicable should sue, it's an invasion of privacy. And surely breach of the peace is an arrestable offense alone...

Preach of the peace? - Definately a pun there...

This heater is making me very sleepy.

I think that if they didn't crave media attention so much they wouldn't be running into as much difficultly as they are now. Previously they won cases stating that the First Amendment covers what they do. With that $10m case it seems people are siding with the opinion that all the defamation of character and shock tactics they use are less freedom of speech and more incitement to violence.

People are wising up and doing what they can to limit what the WBC can get away with.

You having Cappy fun then?

I ordered the one from Amazon a while ago, I'm surprised it's taken this long.

The Leonard Coen box was part of the voucher Harriet and Mark got for us.

Was there anything in that huge stack of things for eggonz?
