Work In Progress, Dean Forester Fic, "Army Dean"

Jun 20, 2009 01:49

Hi!

I don't usually do this. I like to post fics, or at least chapters of fics, which are nice looking, easy to read, cleaned-up and complete.

But this time I'm going to show you something that I've been working on for over a year. I call it "Army Dean" though the actual title is "Whatever Happened to Dean Forester?"

What happened to me here ( Read more... )

army, dean forester, gg fic, whatever happened to dean forester?, wip

Hi, both are great. I like the ending of the Lorelai/Dean one. really curious about what the heck happened with dean and his parents. Same with the Rory viewpoint. wondering what the reaction to that last statement of his will get. I also like the postive parents viewpoint(angst is always good, but every so often some fluff is needed). can't wait to see how you finish these ( ... )

Hi, both are great.

Thanks!

I like the ending of the Lorelai/Dean one. really curious about what the heck happened with dean and his parents. Same with the Rory viewpoint. wondering what the reaction to that last statement of his will get.

That might get re-written now, but this has been really helpful!

I also like the postive parents viewpoint(angst is always good, but every so often some fluff is needed).

I agree!

can't wait to see how you finish these.

Thank you! (Me too! *LOL* )

I could so see that happen, and just like when his dad said "what are you doing here?", he would be so hurt. the angst level would shoot through the roof.

Right, if I'm going to put Dean through hell, I might as well go all out!

And the idea of Rory catching Lorelai and Dean in a VERY adult kiss would be very interesting. nothing better than having my fav. couple showing their love, and rory realizing that dean isn't some guy that she can take advantage of and dump for someone else. I'm glad you like that idea! It won't fit in either of these ( ... )

I gave the Ranger Cut a try in my pathetic little program. And I posted the manip above. It is a VERY BAD manip but I think it can give you an idea of what it would look like on Dean.

Do your read "Punisher" comics? 2wingo June 22 2009, 21:05:40 UTC
"Yeah, I know. But Dean wasn’t doing the best with his life, so I thought maybe it was time to try something not-Dean and see how that worked out. I was very angry: at the world, at fate, at myself. And it’s been a good place to channel all of that. It’s given me a lot of self-discipline and self-respect and pushed me to do things I never thought I could do. So maybe I should stick with it and see how much better I can become? I mean, I’m proud to be a Ranger. I worked hard for it, and maybe that’s my identity now? Yeah, it’s a life or death job, but people depend on me, they trust me, they put their lives in my hands, and my life is in theirs, I feel like I’m a part of something. Do I want to leave all that behind and come back here to be the guy that cheated on his wife again?”

Because that reminds me of something the Punisher once said.

"Here, on Long Island, emptying a machinegun into a bunch of Mafia pricks, only here do I feel something like peace."

I don't, but that does sound similar! It would be great to have Dean drive off after "The Party's Over" and become a vigilante!

You know, that's a good idea. Wanna co-write it?

That is flattering dude, but man I have these two up above, I'm working on, one in the Taken In Verse and I'm working on The Misbegotten. I just can't commit to co-writing something because I don't think I'd be able to give it my all. I'm so sorry!

But I think you should give it a go though, and I'll help with anything you need.

By the way, if you're planning to really go in-depth with this one 2wingo July 13 2009, 04:30:54 UTC
There are a few "Punisher" Trade paperbacks I'd highly recommend reading:

The Punisher: Welcome Back Frank

The Punisher: Frank Castle Vol. 1: In the Beginning

The Punisher: Frank Castle Vol. 6: Barracuda

The Punisher: Frank Castle Vol. 7: Man of Stone

The Punisher: Frank Castle Vol. 9: Long Cold Dark

The Punisher: Born

(All of the above are easily available wherever they sell graphic novels. Please note that the "The Punisher: Frank Castle" volumes may go by the alternate title "The Punisher MAX." "Barracuda" isn't really essential, but it will answer a lot of the questions in "Long Cold Dark," which really is essential.)

If these don't give you a really good idea of the tormented mindset of the true soldier, I guarantee nothing will.
