But I am in need of a journal right now. And i dont even care who sees this or what people think, they probably won't understand it anyway ( Read more... )

I understand what you mean, Annmarie. I've been thinking about that issue ever since I left for Boston. To be serious, it's all about who you choose to associate with in college. Many believe that partying all the time, skipping classes, having sex, using drugs, etc. is the "college thing" to do becuase they see it in movies and hear people talk about it. But in reality, they're trapped in society's "norm" and unable to break free of it. They do not understand that they have a choice to avert from those ways but their congregation of freinds are also glued to society's ways that they have no other choice but to "go with the flow." I have noticed few who have changed, though and when I think about it, how I knew them in high school and how they are now really shocks me. I don't drink (much) here in school, mainly because I choose not to and I've met a few friends who don't. I don't know it's hard to say becuase everyone is their own individual, but viewing all of these changes, it seems no one is their own individual anymore, ( ... )

I agree with a lot of stuff there. i know a lot of people [from high school and not] for have changed ridiculously in the past two months. and it's just like you said, just to try new things, and there's really no reason to. about 75% of my campus goes out every night of the week to parties and what not. i don't understand it at all, i probably went out 5 times all together since i've been here and i'm already bored with it, it's the same crap over and over and i don't see how it's fun. people only do it to escape reality...and i don't get it. i don't know if there's something/someone specific you'r takling about..but i'm sorry :'( i hope you don't think i've changed, cause i really don't believe i have. i'm also getting annoyed with the people who have, and i know that my main goal is to keep true to myself through all of college/life. love youuuu!!! i'll ttyl.
