We DO have that fridge in Ops yanno. Plus with a decent cooler, ice can keep for hours at a time, so refridgerating things isnt a problem, just to try to open a few options up for you.

Thanks for the reminder about the fridge, but my biggest issue is I don't get back up to ops very often. So I want to find stuff that will survive me running around all day long.

Dude, that is what we have runners for. Hell, if I'm there, I'll run the food for you myself. You worked your ass for this year, we reward for that, so if it takes me demoting myself (only temporarily darn it) to a runner, then so be it.

I know I havent said it much, but thank you for all your hard work. You and everyone else that busted major ass this year!!!

Just remember there is no way to actually cook anything in the Hyatt. The rooms do not have microwaves, and neither does ops. One things we have considered is sandwich stuff. We can make several and keep them in the fridge during shift for runners to bring to us (or make a stop by ops ourselves). The cheese, meats, and such can be kept in our room in a cooler. We just dump the water and replace with fresh ice each day (gotta love a few ice machine).

summer sausage, beef sticks and hard salami all do pretty well without being in the fridge for several hours. The trick is to cut them into whatever size you'd eat during the day--toss 'em out at the end of the day if they haven't been eaten. Same thing for many hard cheeses-- they need to be cool, but not necessarily cold.

Peanut butter (either on crackers or apples)

Nuts like almonds and walnuts make good snacks.

Also, check out some of the newer lunch boxes on the market. I have one I can freeze that keeps things cold most of the day. By freezing it you eliminate the need (and the weight) of ice packs.

How do you feel about making your own rolls?
You can put lots of stuff in tortillas, pepperoni and cheese, peanut butter and honey (mushed together first) are a couple of things.
I don't reccommend soy for long term consumption but for a weekend there are Cliff bars that make a good snack.
Freeze dried ice cream.
And you can always snag me and I'll be glad to get what ever you need.
